UK companies exhibit virtually as part of the UK Pavilion

For the nineteenth consecutive year, the United Kingdom participated in the JSAE (Japan Society of Automotive Engineers) Exposition. The technology-centred exhibition is one of the most important events for the automotive industry in Japan, held in Yokohama every May. This year, due to Covid-19 regulations, the event could not take place physically and was instead held virtually via digital presentations.

The companies came together to showcase the UK's best EV systems and innovations in electromobility. Julia Longbottom, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Japan, wrote that she intended to strengthen the trade relationship between the countries and demonstrate to Japan the capabilities within the UK.

"Trading internationally with confidence is crucial for this sector. The conclusion of the UK-Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement now provides you with the foundations you need to continue to trade between the UK and Japan, and to invest in the UK. We are committed to enhancing our rich trade relationship, tackling the climate change challenge and transitioning to electric vehicles with you at our side." Julia Longbottom, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Japan
